Mixed Methods Research

Mixed methods research combines both qualitative and quantitative research techniques within a single study to provide a more complete understanding of a research problem. This approach integrates the strengths of both methods—numerical analysis from quantitative data and deeper context from qualitative insights.

For example, a study evaluating a new educational program might first survey students to collect numeric ratings of satisfaction (quantitative) and then conduct interviews with a smaller group to explore their experiences in more detail (qualitative).
