Quantitative data consists of numerical information that can be measured, counted, or expressed with numbers. It describes quantities, amounts, or ranges, and it can be analyzed using mathematical calculations and statistical methods. Quantitative data can further be classified as discrete (specific values like counts) or continuous (any value within a range).
For example, recording the heights of students in a classroom in centimeters produces quantitative data. These measurements can be averaged, compared, and statistically analyzed to describe the overall distribution of student heights.
