The Baader-Meinhof phenomenon, also called frequency illusion, is a cognitive bias where something you recently learned or noticed suddenly seems to appear everywhere. This creates the illusion that the frequency of that thing has increased, even though it’s just your heightened awareness noticing it more often.
For example, after reading about a rare medical disease, you might start encountering news stories, research articles, or social media posts mentioning the condition, giving you the impression that it’s suddenly much more common.
