A probability tree diagram is a visual tool used to map out and calculate the probabilities of different outcomes in a sequence of events. It branches out each possible outcome at every stage, showing the probability of each path, which helps organize complex probability problems.
For example, a tree diagram could illustrate the chances of drawing two cards from a deck without replacement. The first branches would represent drawing a red or black card first, and each of those branches would further split into red or black outcomes for the second draw.
